This painting is part of a series documenting a single, suspended ocotillo against a wall, a subject found during an artist residency in Terlingua, Texas. Inspired by Monet’s studies of light, this work captures the specific quality of the midday sun in the high desert. By maintaining a consistent subject and background, the study focuses on how direct, overhead light interacts with the structure of the plant and its relationship to the wall, documenting the atmospheric clarity and the specific shadows of the high desert at the height of the day.

Each painting is carefully packed with white glove service and securely packed for travel to its final destination.
