This painting is part of a series documenting a single, suspended ocotillo against a wall, a subject found during an artist residency in Terlingua, Texas. Inspired by Monet’s commitment to capturing a subject at different hours, this study explores the presence of light in near-total darkness. The painting observes how the texture of the wall changes when the sun is absent, relying on deep chromatic tones and the subtle light characteristic of the Terlingua night sky.
