Created during an artist residency in Big Bend National Park, Secrets of a Petal is an 8x8 alla prima oil study capturing a prickly pear cactus centered around a single bloom. Painted in a direct, single session, the piece documents the subtle shifts of high-desert light across the fleshy pads of the cactus and the delicate, focused color of the flower.

This is an 8”x8”x.75” oil painting on cradled panel and includes a maple floater frame. It can be hung on the wall as part of a set or individually as a stand-alone feature. Please note that the colors in this painting are displayed as accurately as possible, but as colors vary from screen to screen, slight variations in person should be expected.

  • Please allow ten days for processing times in the studio and select the “Medium Art” option at checkout if shipping. Each painting is carefully packed with white glove service and securely packed for travel to its final destination. Whether more or less, final shipping costs will be calculated upon receipt of the destination address. This painting can also be picked up at the Studio.
